About

I’m a 49 year old man living with a chronic pain disorder.  Right now I’m on leave from work, and lying in bed with not enough to do other than watching tv,  I’m married to a wonderful woman and have one daughter, and they’re the loves of my life.  I have many interests which include reading, writing, sports, politics, culture, news and life. The things I enjoy most are spending time with my family, teaching my Sunday School class, and helping people.

I’ve never tried writing in a public forum before, or letting anyone else see it, so this is kind of scary for me.  Like most people I’m not crazy about rejection, but it doesn’t bother me the way it used to.  I’ve grown up a lot from that kid that used to be crushed by it.  Now I understand that the people who are going to like you are going to like you regardless of what you do, and the ones who don’t.  Nothing you do will make any difference to them.

Here’s hoping that someone will like my blog.  Make you a deal.  You give me a chance and follow me, and I’ll follow you. 🙂

Sooo, I woke up to a comment explosion this morning! Cheers for you’re feedback, it’s highly appreciated! I’m glad that you like my blog, I’m finding yours a very interesting read. I like that you are open and honest about your life and your beliefs. I have to say, they are very different to my own but I think that’s why I am finding them so interesting.

Keep at it! Don’t be discouraged by views and comments (I’m pretty sure my mum makes up half of the views on my blog!) and just write about what you want to. You’re doing a good job!

    Hello,

The last few sentences of your post made me laugh out loud. 😉

Those who like you don’t need a deal to follow your blog, and those who don’t, no matter what kind of deal you offer, it won’t make a difference to them..

Wow…two things in that post really stood out to me: Firstly – “I’m not crazy about rejection, but it doesn’t bother me the way it used to” …SO true for me….The closer I get to my Saviour and start to view myself as HE sees me – the less I care about what other’s think of me. I still have aways to go but I’m getting closer every day 🙂

    And secondly:
“people who are going to like you are going to like you regardless of what you do, and the ones who don’t. Nothing you do will make any difference to them. ”

How true. I never hid my faith on my blog but I didn’t used to be as open as I am.

My blog used to be called “welcome to the madhouse” and I frequently wrote about how crazy our lives are but one day God showed me that “the power of life and death is in the tongue” and helped me realise that if I was going to keep confessing that my house was a madhouse – I wasn’t giving Him any room to change things! So “Wonderfully Wired” was born because God asked me to focus on the strengths in my children and to point people back to Him.

Well….In doing that and obeying God, I lost 3/4 of my blog subscribers and my comments halved and it really stung, but God told me clearly that He will bring the people that NEED to read what I write WHEN they need to read it and that it is His spirit in me that they are rejecting, NOT me 🙂

Sorry for the essay but You really triggered some thought patterns in your “about me” post.

Looking forward to reading a lot more from you.
    Cheers.

I like like like you! 🙂 Oh I hope you’re doing better physically with God’s love everyday. My dad is same age with you. I just suggested why won’t he try blogging? But he said that he’s better in Facebook. 😀 I admire fathers like you that despite of any ailments, you continue to live life as strongly as you can. God bless you and count me in for your avid readers! 🙂

So nice of you Matthew, thank you. I’ve already received that honor once, and for you to find me worthy of it once again is very humbling. Not very versatile at the moment, but hoping to get there again. God bless and I’m pray you’re doing well.

Hi Dru. Just going through the storm. Sorry I’ve been out for so long. Just haven’t had the energy to do much of anything. Working hard to get back. Very long road. Miss you.

    Wayne,

I only skimmed this morning before reblogged it. I should not be in such a hurry when I am blogging.

I relooked at it and took it down. Jesus Christ is the only thing life is about. I do apologize about the mistake on my blog. Thank you for cataching that.

Wayne, Thanks for following my blog, http://www.faithim.wordpress.com. In your struggle with chronic pain, remember, God’s grace is sufficiant. His power is made perfect in weakness. In the last 13 years of my struggle with chronic pain, I’ve seen this verse, spoken over Paul, be proven in my life as well. His power is definately shining through you in your love for him and for others. Blessings, brother!

Thank you for your kindness, and for expressing the truth of God’s Word. I, too, have seen that in my own life. I pray your words as true when you say God’s power is shining through. It is only my Lord Jesus Christ who is deserving of this praise.
